Special Education (ESY)

Times: 8:20 AM to 12:50 PM
Note: There will be no school on Fridays

The ESY (Extended School Year Program) for special education is a service offered to students that qualify based on their progress toward IEP goals. The IEP team makes the determination for eligibility based on the qualification criteria. At ESY, students work on specific goals from their IEP, which may include an academic area, a social emotional area, a goal related to a transition or life skill, and/or a related service. ESY will be located at Meadows Elementary School this year. If your student is eligible to attend the special education ESY summer program, you will receive an email from the school.

Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided. For transportation pick-up and drop-off times, you may contact the Topeka Public Schools Transportation Office at 785-295-3910 or Kansas Central Bus Service at 785-233-2009. Please have your student ready and waiting for the bus at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time.

El Programa de Año Escolar Extendido (ESY) para educación especial es un servicio que se ofrece a los estudiantes que califican según su progreso hacia las metas del IEP. El equipo del IEP determina la elegibilidad según los criterios de calificación. En el ESY, los estudiantes trabajan en metas específicas de su IEP, que pueden incluir un área académica, un área socioemocional, una meta relacionada con una transición o una habilidad para la vida, y/o un servicio relacionado. Este año ESY se desarrollará en  Meadows Elementary School. Si su estudiante es elegible para asistir al programa de verano de ESY para educación especial, usted recibirá un correo electrónico de la escuela.

Se proporcionará transporte, desayuno y almuerzo. Para conocer los horarios de recogida y llegada del transporte, puede comunicarse con la Oficina de Transporte de Topeka Public Schools al 785-295-3910 o con el Servicio de Autobuses Kansas Central al 785-233-2009. Por favor, asegúrese de que su estudiante esté listo y esperando el autobús al menos 10 minutos antes de la hora programada de recogida.
