HS Credit Recovery

For questions regarding high school credit recovery programs, please contact your child's school.

Topeka Public Schools offers a summer credit recovery (grades 9-12) or acquisition (grades 9-11) opportunity for students who wish to make up or add high school credit.  If you are unsure what credit you need, please see the counselor at your high school.  Students may register and pay at their home school. There will be a $25 refundable fee upon completion of the coursework.

Deadline for enrollment was May 17, 2024. All TPS students must enroll and attend at his/her home school. Students completing the required coursework will receive a letter grade. In-district grades will be reflected on student transcripts.

In addition to recovering credits for courses previously failed, we will offer courses students wish to take to get ahead. This is a great opportunity for those students who plan to attend Washburn Tech or TCALC. Upon acceptance, students will work with school staff to determine which resources would be most appropriate to complete needed credits.

Students will have access to teacher support during regular class time. Students are expected to attend class daily. Any anticipated absences must be discussed with the instructor prior to the absence.

Transportation will be provided to all TPS students at no cost through the use of a Topeka Transit "Kids Ride Free" program. Students may continue to use a previously distributed bus pass or show a school identification. For any questions about using this service, please contact Topeka Transit Customer Service Department at (785) 783-7000.
