Timeline for Implementation

November 2019 - Kansas State Board of Education approved dyslexia recommendations
January 2020 - Kansas State Board of Education approved screening components
March 2020 - Kansas State Department of Education and Kansas Educational Service Centers will collaborate on required training
April/May 2020 - Training will be available from Kansas Department of Education and Kansas Educational Service Centers
July 2020 - A dyslexia coordinator should be identified by the Kansas State Board of Education 
August 2020 - Schools will begin providing dyslexia professional development  and implementing evidence-based reading practices (structured literacy)
August 2020 - KSDE and the State Board of Education will have a dyslexia handbook available
August 2021 - Full implementation by all Kansas schools
