Professional License Renewals
(Renew every five years)
Renewals can be submitted up to six months prior to the expiration date on your current license. You can check your credential information by clicking ksde.org-license look-up. All professional development points and college credits that are used for renewal must be documented and submitted on an official professional development transcript from the district Professional Development Council. An official college transcript and an official professional development transcript are both required and must be submitted for any renewal using college credits.
One COLLEGE CREDIT = 20 professional development points
If you have a Bachelor's Degree..
- documented 160 points total
- at least 80 professional development points
- at least a minimum of 4 college credits (official college transcript should be sent to Professional
- Learning Department @TPS 501 attn: Betty Young)
- official itemized professional development transcript

- Submit to Kansas State Department of Education

Fingerprint Requirements: Effective November 15, 2014
Any person submitting any of the following will ALSO be required to submit a complete set of fingerprints and the required fee AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
- An application for the first Kansas certificate or license, or
- An Application for renewal of an expired Kansas certificate or license, or
- Any application for a Kansas certificate or license, if the person has NEVER submitted fingerprints of any previous application for a Kansas certificate or license.

TPS Fingerprint Procedure
Who: Employee of the district
Fee: No charge for fingerprinting from the district; $50 fee payable to KSDE for processing.
How: Appointment with school police

Required to bring:
- Fingerprint card (available online at ksde.org)
- Envelope with postage attached
- Check or money order for $50.00 made payable to KSDE
- State or Federal ID (driver license, passport, etc.)
After Fingerprinting:
- Officer seals the envelope (fingerprint card and fee in the envelope)
- Mail (employee responsible)
Note: If you don't bring the items listed above, the TPS police will not proceed with fingerprinting.
